7/6/2023 0 Comments Vivitar lens for canon eosThe sweet spot of the lens is reached at f/8 with an excellent center- and very good border-resolution. At f/5.6 the borders have already improved to very good quality. At f/3.5 the resolution is a bit reduced (still good) at the borders but the center is already on a high level. The Cosina is able to produce very decent results throughout most of the range. Some guy here in Vancouver tried to sell his Nikon version but couldn't get any takers as they couldn't imagine his lens being decent for the $100 he was asking: It gets decent marks for a very budget lens. f5.6 is to wide for many 1:1 macro shots, your better off closed down for increased depth of field, which is always a problem in true macro mode.Ĭosina made this lens even though it bears the Vivitar name, here is a Photozone review of the Cosina (Vivitar). Some one here said you could only use f5.6 as though that was a bad thing with the adapter this tells me this person doesn't shoot much macro. I use it as a portrait lens on my full frame and I've used the macro function, with and without adapter. The reason I bought it was that Pop Photo recommended it when it first came out. If you snoop around you should find some decent reviews of this lens.
